Long Grove, Illinois is my Kind of Town

CNN in its recent Money Magazine article  reported Long Grove, Illinois  as the 24th suburb out of 25 for the highest median household  income in the United States. I don't know if that's something to brag about..... but let me explain why Long Grove should also qualify as one of the top 10 places to live!

Long Grove Illinois is my Kind of Town!

Long Grove,  Illinois is very  unique.... its a very quaint suburb, but with all the amenities of city living.  Although it is relatively small in population, it is quite large in terms of square miles.  The zoning rules ensure that properties have ample acreage in order that the residents do not lose their sense of privacy.  In addition the retention of the conservencies is protected by the Village in order not to lose the natural vegetation.Historical Long Grove Shops

Long Grove may be best known for its many festivals andLong Grove confectionary specialty shops  Visitors travel long distances by car and chartered buses  to spend a day in the Long Grove Historic Business District.  Downtown Long Grove contains 120 stores appealing to both tourists and residents.  

Long Grove is conveniently located only 10 minutes from I-94, 12 minutes from I-90, and 5 minutes east of Rt. 53. Chicago is 30 miles away, while O´Hare Airport is also a 30-minute ride. Commuters can catch the Metra train at the Prairie View train station or in downtown Palatine.

Children living in Long Grove attend kindergarten at Willow Grove Elementary School in Buffalo Grove, first through 5th grades at Kildeer Countryside Elementary School or Country Meadow Elementary School in  Long Kildeer Country Side School Long GroveGrove and 6th through 8th grade at Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove.  A smaller amount  of children living in Long Grove attend Diamond Oak for elementary school and West Oak Junior High

Teenagers will attend the highly acclaimed Stevenson High School  One of three schools in America and the only school in Illinois to earn four Blue Ribbon Awards for excellence from the U.S. Department of Education.  The Stevenson's  student´s average ACT score is 24.8, considerably higher than the state average of  21.5.
