Long Grove Illinois- Sunset Foods is coming to Long Grove at the end of January 2011

Long Grove Illinois is finally getting the Sunset they deserve.... Good news for Long Grove residents

I am a Long Grove realtor who has been writing  posts about Sunset Foods coming to Long Grove  Illinois since 2007. I have been salivating(ok that is an exaggeration) since that time and 4 years later, I am still anxiously awaiting the opening of the Sunset Foods in the Long Grove community.   Its coming soon folks! They are shooting for the end of January or the beginning of February of 2011.

Many Long Grove residents (including myself) continue to drive by this newly  constructed Sunset Foods  at the corner of Aptakisic and Route 83 and imagine all of the goodies waiting for them next month.

First of all, Sunset Foods is a neighborhood supermarket dedicated to providing the finest customer service. They are small enough to get to know you and large enough to stock an outstanding selection of food, liquor, floral and other items at competitive prices. Customer service is key to them; whether loading your car, serving free coffee while you shop or providing recipes for their clients they make shopping a pleasurable experience.

Second, Sunset Foods has unbelievably fresh food. Their deli department and salad bar are second to none. Whether you want a precooked dinner for your family or a gourmet catered meal, Sunset will be able to help you. My family and I are looking forward to great tasting, healthy, precooked meals.

Last Friday, I was given a private tour of the new Sunset, and it is more amazing than I had imagined. I am very excited about the Asian bar as well as  the shrimp bar, hot soup bar, olive bar, trail mix bar and sandwich bar.  Long Grove is finally going to get the Sunset they have been waiting for!

Here are three great ideas to take your children to do in Buffalo Grove this Winter Vacation....I mean besides, the computer, the electronic games and the Television. 

Buffalo Grove- So much time... so little to do....  What should you do with your children during the Winter vacation 

Outdoor Ice Skating and Sledding  in Buffalo Grove   Willow Stream Park in Buffalo Grove, 600 Farrington Road, has a large, lighted skating area which is located at the end of the park as well as  a large sledding Hill.   Both the ice skating and sledding rinks are lighted until 10:30 pm.

There are also  two non-lighted smaller, skating areas in Buffalo grove at Mill Creek, 1350 Radcliffe Road, and Twin Creeks, 401 Aptakisic Road.   There are no warming houses, or skate rentals at any of these locations.  Grab a thermos of hot chocolate and you're good to go .

The park district has a hotline to keep residents updated regarding the ice conditions.  The number is 847-850-2192.

Long Grove Confectionary Tour  in Buffalo Grove.  Who doesn't like Chocolate?   

Don't wait  to make your reservations ( 1-888-459-3100) at the amazing Long Grove Confectionary Tour at 333 Lexington Drive in Buffalo Grove.  The tours are from Tuesday through Thursday from 10 to 12  all year round.  The admission is $2.00 per person. 

Wizard of Oz at the Marriott Lincolnshire

This classic children's play runs through November 18, 2010 - January 2, 2011.

You won't want your kids to miss Dorothy, the Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, and Scarecrow as they head down the yellow brick road to the wonderful Land of Oz in an hour-long presentation of this beloved musical. In order to get tickets, call the Box Office at 847-634-0200.

Overall, there were 65  Long Grove sales since the beginning of the 2010.  12  of the Long Grove homes that sold were either  short sales or foreclosures.  For a relatively wealthy community, that is a huge percentage.... 

For comparison purposes,   last year in 2009 there were only 59  Long Grove home sales for the entire year.
