Appeal your Lake County Real Estate Taxes...

Are You Overpaying Your Lake County Illinois

 Real Estate Taxes?

Your home value has decreased but are you getting the same reduction in your property taxes?

Learn here how to appeal your taxes

Dear Homeowner,

Given today's economic climate and its impact on the housing market, it is unfortunate that the value of your home has decreased significantly.   As we all patiently wait for the housing market to rebound, you will definitely want to make sure your property tax assessment reflects these lower values.

Whether you live in Vernon Township,  Libertyville Township, or Ela Township, it is important to act in a timely fashion.

There are some easy, but very time sensitive steps you can take, to ensure your real estate tax assessment has been reduced appropriately.  The timing is critical and that time is now, or at some point this Fall  as any appeal must be made within 30 days from the date you receive your Notice of Assessment.

Please click below on the highlighted link to my most recent blog post, to learn all you need to know to make sure you don't miss your opportunity to appeal your taxes.  The details will include when to expect your Notice of Assessment, how fast you must act, what steps to take, and who to contact if you prefer someone to do it for you.

In addition, I have provided the details about an informational meeting being hosted by Lake County on Tuesday, September 13 that will explain the entire real estate appeal process in even more detail.

Wishing you success,
