Whether you are in the market to buy a home  in Hawthorn Woods or to sell your current Hawthorn Woods home, it is important to keep abreast of  the Hawthorn Woods market statistics (or at least to work with a knowledgeable REALTOR who does). Newspapers, national magazines, and television news report on regional and national trends, but don't really do the best job of explaining the local real estate market in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois. The chart below analyzes the 8 homes that closed in 2009 in Hawthorn woods between $450,000 and $825,000.  Hawthorn Woods closed Sales     What do these statistics mean to the sellers of these homes in Hawthorn Woods?  I try explain to my Hawthorn Woods  sellers that it is very important to price your home right on the target.  One of the above Hawthorn Woods homes took 542 days to sell. The sellers of these 8 Hawthown Woods homes  on average received 81.29% of the current asking price.    If the property was priced correctly at the beginning, the sellers would have received closer to their asking price, in a much short time frame.

What do these statistics mean to the potential buyers of Hawthorn Woods... Bottom line-there are great homes at substantially reduced prices in Hawthorn Woods, Illinois. Call me and I can tell you about which Hawthorn Woods homes are foreclosures and short sales, need more work, or are just drop dead  gorgeous but at the same time are great deals.

Hi Judy,

Saw your note this morning and it made me a little nostalgic.  I lived in Lake Zurich and Cary in the 70's and 80's, probably when you were still riding a tricycle.

The Tavern of Long Grove used to have auctions every Thursday night....terrific dinners too.  Is it still around?

Jim, thanks for commenting.  Yes the Long Grove tavern is still there...  By the way I'm older than you think.  I graduated from college in 1982 and can't believe I have a High School Junior.  Time goes by so fast.

Sorry it took me so long to respond.  This is the end of my first week on AR, and all the things to do here are incredible. 

As far as getting older, we have a grandson who is also a junior in high school.  That’s when you see time flying by. 

Next week our 2 newest grandsons are visiting from Alaska...their almost 9 months old.
