Have the golf itch yet?- I do!

 Golf Season Is Almost Here

As I look outside at my backyard covered with snow, I am starting to get the itch to get out on the golf course and hit my golf clubs.  Unfortunately, I'm looking at least two months plus until I can get onto a golf course here in the Chicago area.

If you are already tired of this Chicago winter and you want to play real Winter Golf, then pack your bags and take a plane to Palm Springs, California, Scottsdale, Arizona or somewhere else warm.   I'm taking my yearly girl's long weekend at the end of April, and I am counting the days.

If your budget or time does not allow for these travels, then I recommend that you at least improve your golf game by taking advantage of the Golf Dome in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.  It is located at 801 Mchenry Road, ½ mile west of Buffalo Grove Road and Old Mchenry Road.  It is open until April 6th.   Check out the hours and prices below.

Now in the 8th year of operation, the Buffalo Grove Golf and Sports Center is recognized as one of the top indoor golf learning centers in the country.  The Golf and Sports Center offers a temperature controlled, realistic practice environment suitable for practicing full shots and the short game.

Also for anyone that might be interested in working on your game over the winter, I recommend that you contact Matt Mitchell, the assistant pro for Hillcrest Country Club, for private golf lessons.  He is teaching at the dome this winter and is an excellent golf instructor.  I have taken lessons from him, and he has made improvements to my game in just one lesson.  . You can contact him on his cell phone (989) 390-3997 and your golf game will be ready for the spring.

I had to click this blog  because of the title. I have been in the North Georgia Mountains I guess for a long time. I forgot that where you are, and where I cam e from there are seasons  for outdoor sports. Now for sure in the winter there is a day here or there that you cannot get out but not a season.

My twins are 6th graders now-  I didn't have time to golf when they were babies.  Remember also, we can golf here from April to October.  By the way we are having a major snowstorm here today, schools are closed so I will be playing the wii with them all day. ( maybe the golf game)

Judy, snow, what's snow? We had a record 83 degrees Monday. I think we have global warming and you have arctic fronts.

Judy ... from metro-Detroit, I feel your pain!  Yes, I have been itching to golf since about November!  Instead of a day on the links, I got to spend a day shoveling snow and ice.  Good times.

Hey Judy,

Why not play golf and hit the beach afterwards?

Hmmm, let's see where you can do that?

How about N. Padre Island, TX.  "- )

You can play golf nearly year round here. And beaching in the water is about 9 months out of the year.

I'm 15 seconds from a long stretch of the Padre Island Country Club golf course. The beach is minutes away.

The temperature was low to mid 70's and SUNNY! What a gorgeous day. It's heaven here. Beautiful, unspoiled, and QUIET!

So, pack your bags and bring the family and girls down.  "-)

Cheers, Mr. C. KIM McGuire. Padre Islander

Charles,- this has been the worst winter in a long time unless you like to shovel, get your car stuck in the snow, shovel again,  have your kids off  from school for snowdays or ski.

Kelly, Today I shoveled my client's driveway for her first showing.  I'm sick of the snow.  This Saturday, we're going to go skiing in Wilmot- take some time off.

Judy, stop by any time. Hopefully the Cowboys can focus better next year. They only beat the Giants two times but when it counted, Oops!! No more trips to Mexico for Romo.

Judy - Actually, yes I agree with that!  I wouldn't trade a Michigan summer or fall or anything.  The winter, well that I can do without...

Golf = giant waste of time and $ for me to get mad at myself. I do like Tennis.

Michael- yes it is a waste of time and money- but I sure like being on the golf course away from the phone and the computer.
