Where were you 50 years ago?   Chance are that you were not living in Buffalo Grove, Illnois.  Only 164 people made it their residence in 1958.  Although you, your parents or even your grandparents didn't  ever dream of living in Buffalo grove, a suburb 35 miles Northwest of Chicago, you are probably very happy with your decision to make this wonderful village your home 50 years later.   Let's help celebrate Buffalo Grove's 50th Anniversary this year!

 

Buffalo Grove 50th Anniversary Events

April 2Open House 11:00-5:00 p.m. on the village campus featuring historical displays, and a village parade.  Come for the free hot dogs, ice cream and birthday cake!! There will be numerous activities for the children!

June 21: Car Show and Sock Hop  Car Show  9:00 - 3:00 You will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite car!  Music and DJ.  Raceline Motor Works-design-build-race your own car.  Sock Hop 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. with Dick Biondi as emcee.  There will be a$5 admission  which includes a Dance Contest and a 50's Fashion Show 

July 18-20, 25-27: "Music Man" production by the Buffalo Grove Park District

Aug. 3: Combined Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and BG Singers concert and ice cream social

Labor Day weekend:  Buffalo Grove Days with a 50th anniversary twist

Judy, you probably don't believe me but in a past life as a traveling salesman and covering Chicago and traveling to the burbs for hotels and such I actually have been to Buffalo Grove. A very nice berg I might add. Happy 50th to the thriving Metropolis! Let's see now, doing the math, twenty years ago you would have been what? Nine years old? I know you tell me you have sons that age or something which I still can't believe. Your husband must be one lucky guy with finding such a youthful one. Or did he really rob the cradle and I've been right all along and you are 29? : )
