Recently I wrote a blog post about the future happenings in Lincolnshire Illinois highlighting the bands playing at the Concert in the Green. I noted that one of my neighbors, Karen Kiley and her band The Retro Rockets were going to perform on July 31st.
Let me tell you, it's one thing to write about an event in town... but its much more fun to attend it!
Many of our neighbors attended the concert to listen to Karen's band, the Retro Rockets and get together to have a wonderful summer evening.
The Retro Rockets play rock n' roll music from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. The band was unbelievable, the company was great and all in all it was a fantastic evening.
Flatlander's a restaurant attached to the concert venue provided food and drinks at a reasonable cost.
This was the first Concert in the Green I have attended, but it won't be my last!

Judy, this is THE post I have been waiting for from you. In addition to you describing very well the "upcoming" events I wanted some feedback of one you attended if you found the time. I'm so glad you liked The Retro Rockets. Music in the summer is very special I have found. A great good times moment. Thanks for your sharing. Keep getting out there and having "fun" Judy. I can just visualize that beautiful smile on your face broadening as you soak in the music.
Judy... Was just thinking of music and you! Received an early bird order form for Holiday Cards with a CD, not making much progress towards customization. Sounds like you are fed better at your Concerts on the Green, around here we need to lug our feast...
Judy, it sounds like you had a great time!
Great info as always Judy.....keep up the good work
We have concerts in the park. It is a lot of fun. I'm glad you enjoyed yours.
Eric, let's have lunch sometime when you are not so busy.
Christine, I especially liked it since the band was great!
Hi Judy,
What a great evening and a wonderful way to support your neighbor and her band. I love events like this.
Judy - You were there too? My brother lives right off Half Day Road. Do you know Matty Schicker over at Flatlander's?
