As you can imagine, many Buffalo Grove sellers took their home off the holidays for the Holiday Season. It's hard enough keeping your home clean when your kids are at school everyday, but when kids are on vacation, home from College, sometimes its just plain impossible to coordinate the real estate showings, especially when you are notified of a showing within just minutes of the time the so called buyer wants to see your home. I have 3 teenage boys and if I had to wake them up, have them clean up their room, and get out of the house before 10:00, I would probably be boycotted as their mom. Homes for Rent in Buffalo Grove- Move Fast!

Whether you are looking for a home for rent in Buffalo Grove, a townhome for rent, or a condo for rent, I have a pulse on the Buffalo Grove rental market

Here is my advice to Renters....

You have to move fast! - you aren't the only one who needs a rental home in Buffalo Grove. Last week I received a call from someone you was renting a home in Buffalo Grove and the Sheriff came to the door to evict them from the rental home they had leased. They had been making the lease payments on a timely basis to their landlord, but the landlord was pocketing the rent, and not paying his mortgage, knowing his home was going to be foreclosed. It is important to check the financial status of the lessor, just like he checks out the financial status of you.. the lessee. The poor people who called me had to find a new rental very quickly!

Additionally, remember that good homes for rent go very quickly. Last year I listed a home for rent for $2500 and because it was listed for rent in a good school district, their was a high demand for the home. It actually rented for $300 over the asking price. Two families had just moved here from out of the country and they bidded up the rental price of the home. Lucky landlords! Besides executives moving here for short term projects, many people are renting in the interim when they are building their credit back up. Additionally, I work with many couples separating or divorcing who want to stay near their exspouse for the benefit of their children.

I also recommend that you work with a Realtor who knows the area and the nuances of the subdivisions, associations, and condo buildings. One time, a new client called me after she found out at the last minute that the building she was going to rent through another realtor didn't allow rentals unless they were grandfathered.

Right here in Buffalo Grove, there is a store in the Woodland Commons shopping center called Soccer Madness. In just under three years, owners Lisa and Mike Mathis are expanding their store. Why? Because they are experts in their field, (no pun intended), and have been an incredible asset to our community. Bringing in clients from all over the North Shore area, Palatine, Vernon Hills and Lincolnshire, they have become the go-to site for soccer supplies.

Mike says that the biggest seller and what drives their business is the immense amount and variety of soccer shoes that they carry. Not only do they have the Nike and Puma that we’re all familiar with, but they also carry brands like Joma from Spain and Pirma from Mexico. He says, “The intent on expanding the store is to focus on team uniforms, both for clubs and retail purchase. Its primary purpose is to be a dedicated team showroom that will have individual, recreational, club, college and high school gear.”

Interestingly, they are branching into field hockey and will carry sticks, goggles, knee pads and of course, uniforms. They are researching this sport carefully so they can offer the same advice and information about field hockey as they do about soccer.

When I see a business grow larger, that means success. People are choosing to come to Buffalo Grove for their needs, which can then support other local businesses nearby. It’s just a great town to live in!

As you know, Real Estate Sales are local.... and how the real estate market is doing in Long Grove, Illinois has nothing to do with the real estate market elsewhere. Hawthorn Club Subdivision in Vernon Hills

Hawthorn Club in Vernon Hills - a wonderful family subdivision.

I first encountered the delightful Hawthorn Club subdivision in Vernon Hills because of my love of golf. The neighborhood is tucked behind the Vernon Hills Golf Course, a terrific public course. Hawthorn Club Subdivision in Vernon Hills is located off of Evergreen Road and Route 45, nestled away from traffic and edged on one side by the golf course.

Hawthorn Club, an inviting neighborhood with 276 homes was built in the late 1980s and early 1990s. All of the homes are spacious with nice-sized lots. At the back of the neighborhood are a number of “estate” homes, larger models built on bigger than average lots. I know of several families who have moved to different homes withinHawthorn Club as their families and housing needs changed. To me, remaining in one’s own neighborhood is certainly an indication of the positive feel of a community.

Children in the Hawthorn Club Subdivision attend schools in Hawthorn School District 73 and continue their high school education at Vernon Hills High School. Thanks, Thank you or TY (for the texters) is something we say all day, everyday. We say it to our friends, our kids, their teachers, the mailman, the cashiers at Sunset, the dog groomer, our neighbors, the pizza guy, our kids’ coaches, the receptionist at the dentist, the butcher, the baker and if we had one, the candlestick maker.

Those words come out of our mouths as automatic replies. Someone asks, “How are you?” You answer, “Fine, thank you. And you?” The waiter approaches with an exorbitant, overpriced check for the salad you just ate and automatically we thank him for the bill!

When Thanksgiving comes around, we had the time to reflect on the real reasons we’re thankful, not just that the pizza guy was timely and kind. We are thankful for the family and friends that we surround ourselves with. We give thanks for our health and that of our family. We are grateful for our bounty, our shelter, our successes and our freedom.

I’d like to take this time as your past, current or future realtor to say THANK YOU for trusting me with such an important decision as home buying and/or selling. It’s my passion to help you and make you happy.

I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and that you took a break from the cooking, eating, cleaning and football watching to relax, unwind and be thankful.
